I first saw proboscis monkeys in Bako National Park, Sarawak, Malaysia. Sometimes they leap across rivers high in the canopy, even mothers carrying babies. This painting is part of my “Flying Primates” series, shown at the Three Monkeys symposium. In these works, I leave out the trees to focus entirely on the monkeys in midair.
