I often like to hide the animal in my paintings, just as you have to look for them in a tropical forest. With the Kha Nyou, that made even more sense: I blended it into the dark rock, but also highlighted a rare plant in the foreground, Begonia khammouanensis, to offer contrast, and draw the eye slowly in.
